A Merseyside family has paid tribute to Daniel Ayers, who died in hospital on Monday following a car crash earlier this month.
Mr Ayers was walking near roadworks in Old Swan, near the junction of Prescot Road and Day Street when he was struck, possibly by a gold or silver Mercedes on October 13.
In a statement, his grieving family said: “Daniel is already missed beyond words by all his family, his many friends and girlfriend Paula.
“Danny was a unique and brilliant guitarist, a fine raconteur, loved the countryside and was for many years a British Conservation Trust volunteer and had walked lots of the hillside routes across Britain."
His girlfriend said, "I don't know what I'll do without him. He was my life."
