A policewoman had apparently been disciplined after she allegedly referred to a car crash victim as a ‘scumbag.’
The woman, who has not been named, has been the subject of ‘disciplinary action,’ according to a spokesperson for Northumbria Police, who refused to discuss further details.
The comments were made, it is alleged, after 16 year old Hayley Adamson was killed by a speeding police car driven by PC John Dougal, who himself has since been jailed for three years after being found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving.
Reporters for the BBC’s Inside Out regional affairs programme uncovered the police document that detailed the accusations.
The policewoman, reports the Daily Mail, referred to Hayley as a ‘Scotchie scumbag,’ referring to the working-class area of Scotswood from which the victim hailed.
'Northumbria Police expects high standards from all of its officers,' said the spokesperson.
