Car crash victim helped by charitable off-duty paramedic

by David Carter 29 September 2010

A man has suffered a serious head injury after a car crash in Hertfordshire.

The victim, who is believed to be in his twenties, was injured at around 7am today after his car left the Baldock Road, near Ivy Farm, and hit a tree.

He was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital after being stablised by paramedics at the scene. The first on the scene had actually just finished his shift and was on his way home when he spotted the aftermath of the crash. In an admirable display of altruism, he helped the victim until his colleagues from the Hazardous Area Response Team arrived.
