Effect of accident may have caused 'air rage' steward's behaviour

by Accident Advice 16 August 2010

The behaviour of Steven Slater, the air steward who came to the world's attention last week when he famously quit his job by sliding off a JetBlue aeroplane on the emergency chute, may have been caused by a head injury, according to Time Magazine. Before take-off, Slater was said to have been involved in an accident when a large bag fell from an overhead locker and struck him on the head. Whereas before he was pleasant and courteous, say witnesses, he suddenly became disorientated and began to behave erratically following the incident, culminating in him announcing his departure from his employment over the public announcement system as soon as the plane landed.
