Good Samaritans come to girl's rescue after car accident

by Richard Robins 14 September 2010

Motorists in Lanarkshire came to the rescue of a small girl on Saturday evening after the car in which she was travelling flipped on to its roof following a car accident on the A72 near Larkhall.

The Rover 25 drove along the wrong side of the road for about 50 yards before swerving violently to avoid oncoming traffic. It mounted an embankment before flipping over on its roof and skidding, upside down, along the road before eventually coming to a halt.

Witnesses reported that the girl’s toys were lying all over the road and she was ‘screaming for her mum and dad.’

Around a dozen people rushed to the aid of the girl while the dazed driver managed to leave the vehicle of his own accord.

Thankfully, neither the driver nor the girl were hurt in the accident.
