An elderly gentleman who was seriously injured in a car accident in Leamington has sadly died in hospital.
His death follows that of his wife who passed away from injuries sustained in the same crash. The couple, aged 95 and 89 respectively, were travelling in their grey Ford Focus when it collided with a blue BMW on Sunday 5th, at lunchtime.
The driver of the BMW, a man aged 35, suffered serious leg injuries in the crash and required surgery at University Hospital in Walsgrave, where he remains.
The couple’s identity will not be made public until they have been formally identified and their relatives have been informed. Police have made an appeal for witnesses to the accident.
