Dog Bite Compensation Claims
Have you been injured by a dog bite? Claim compensation with us
Of course this is fairly self-explanatory – any injury you suffer as a result of being attacked by a dog. Successful claims for injury compensation are usually made when the injury was not the fault of the injured person, so it’ll help if you hadn’t provoked the dog in question.
We have a general page on
animal injury that you may find helpful.
If you’ve suffered a dog bite, what should you do?
First of all, you must see a doctor or a nurse, particularly if the bite has broken the skin. They will treat it so that it doesn’t become infected, and will dress it if necessary. You may also need an injection, and the doctor will look after that too. You should be able to reclaim any money you spend on medical treatment as part of your
compensation claim.
If possible, you should try and get the contact details of the dog owner, as well as any information about the dog itself. It’d also help us if you’d managed to obtain the details of any witnesses to the attack, but if that wasn’t possible, then please don’t worry. What you might want to do is take a picture of your injury as soon after the attack as possible.
